Hi! We’re excited for the season ahead and look forward to Astley Park firing back into life again. Our website has been updated with clear descriptions of the membership options available to you. Select Social, Senior Player or Youth Player and then you can explore from there. You can purchase in the club by completing a paper application and paying at the bar or online through the RFU’s GMS portal. Instructions on how to do this are provided on the membership page of our website.

You can purchase membership online or in the club using a paper form.

ONLINE APPLICATION: to purchase online you can use our website to navigate the membership options. To purchase, you will need to use the RFU’s GMS website. There are links on our website and instructions on how to set up a GMS account (needed to purchase membership online).

PAPER APPLICATION: to purchase your membership in the clubhouse, please ask for a paper application form at the bar, complete it and then pay at the bar.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS: membership cards will be available at the bar within a couple of weeks of application being paid for.

MEMBER BENEFITS: members will see a much greater difference in bar prices as we start the new season. For members, bar prices will remain largely unchanged. For non-members, bar prices will increase by 3%-4% which equates to 15p-20p/pint. Members will also receive other benefits across club activities including discounted gate entry and discounted event tickets.

Thank you for your continued support — it’s what makes Brixham RFC such a special place.

I’m writing to give you advanced notice of upcoming changes to bar and membership prices. We know price increases are never welcome, so I want to take a moment to explain the reasons behind them and the steps we’ve taken to keep them as fair as possible.

Following a full re-tender, we’re pleased to confirm St Austell has retained our brewery contract and given us an improved deal. This will help us as we aim to keep draft beer prices for members largely unchanged (including happy hour). For non-members, most draft prices will rise by around 3–4% (15–20p/pint), with similar increases for bottled drinks, spirits, and soft drinks (for everyone). Our focus remains on delivering great value for members — including exclusive bar discounts and other benefits. New bar prices will take effect Friday 29^th August.

These modest increases reflect wider pressures on the club, including rising utility bills, staffing costs, and general inflation (despite the better deal from our brewery).

We’ll also be making some changes to membership prices. These will be available to view in the coming days and purchase via the club website and via application form in the club. Here’s a sample of the revised membership prices:

1. Club (Social) Membership: £50
2. Season Ticket Membership: £95
3. Men’s Player Membership: £90
4. Women’s Player Membership: £75

You’ll continue to see improvements around the club — from the new Danny Irvine Lounge bar and fencing by the top pitch, to a state-of-the-art cellar system and behind-the-scenes upgrades like lighting, Wi-Fi, and fire safety systems.

Brixham RFC is a not-for-profit organisation, run for the benefit of its members and the wider community. Every penny we make is reinvested into making the club stronger on an off the field. We’re doing our very best to keep costs down while still investing in the club’s future. None of this would be possible without the incredible efforts of our volunteers. I am pleased to notify you that our Club President invites you to the Annual General Meeting for 2025.

It will be held on the 6^th August @ 1915 at the Club.

An Agenda will be made available 2 days before the Meeting.

Any Member wishing to raise any Motions or Business at this meeting should notify the Club Secretary in writing via email by 22:00 on 3^rd August for it to be included on the Agenda.

This year is the 9th formal year for the operation of the Limited Company, all Directors are eligible for re-election, the elected Directors will form the Board of the Club.

Nominations will be invited from the 7^th July for the Club Officer & Volunteer Roles listed below for election to the 2025/26 Management Committee of the Club (known as the “Executive Committee”).

Astley Park is the place to be tomorrow when Devon Men and Devon Women’s teams take on Gloucestershire in the County Championship.
First on is the women’s game with 1 pm kick off followed by the men’s with a 3 pm. kick off.

Lots to choose from this weekend – join us tonight when Albion XV take on Westcountry Wasps XV at Astley Park with a 7.30 pm kick off.
Tomorrow, the Devon Colts 7-a-side festival takes place from 11 am to 5.30 pm and the 1st XV are away against Barnstaple XV, hoping to build on their victory last week in the Papa John’s Cup.

There is also an update in the history section of the website with a piece about our oldest surviving player, Phil Davies, pictured here aged 98 with our youngest player aged seven.

We have a busy weekend in prospect at Astley Park kicking off tonight with the Brixham Colts taking on Yeovil Colts at 7.30 pm.

Tomorrow, Brixham Albion kick off against Trinant XV at 12.30 pm on the top pitch, which will be followed by the 1st XV taking on Barnstaple in the quarter final of the Papa John’s Cup at 2.30 pm.

For just £10 per head, you can buy tables of 10 or individual places and enjoy the full pre-match experience at BRFC. Arrival from 12:45 pm, the price includes gate entry (all pay game), use of the upstairs bar and facilities, and a pasty and chips meal. Dinner Dance

There are still tickets left for the Annual Awards Dinner and Dance at the Berry Head Hotel on Friday, May 9th. Tickets at £42 are available behind the bar.

Brixham Youth play host to the Fishermans Cup U16’s Finals Day this Sunday (April 27th) with the first game, the Plate between Devonport Services and Topsham kicking off at 11 am. The Shield, between Wihtycombe and Exeter Ahtletic kicks off at 1 pm with the Cup game between Ivybridge and Kingsbridge at 3 pm.
