At Brixham Rugby Football Club, we believe rugby is for everyone. Our Youth Section provides a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where young players can learn, develop, make friends and enjoy being part of the Brixham RFC family.
From our youngest players taking their first steps into tag rugby through to those preparing to make the transition into Colts rugby, our qualified coaches and dedicated volunteers are committed to helping every player reach their potential while enjoying the game.

UNDER-7s
Year 2
The Under-7s mark the exciting start of every young player's rugby journey, as children make the step up from our popular Rugby Cubs programme into their first season of tag rugby.
This is a year full of fun, learning and new experiences. Players are introduced to the basic skills of running, passing, evasion and teamwork through enjoyable games and activities, all designed to build confidence and encourage a lifelong love of rugby.
Our dedicated RFU-qualified coaches, supported by an enthusiastic team of parent volunteers, create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child can learn at their own pace. The emphasis is always on participation, enjoyment and making new friends, while introducing the core values of rugby.
Throughout the season, the Under-7s take part in friendly festivals with other local clubs. These provide players with their first opportunity to wear the famous black and white jersey and experience the excitement of representing Brixham RFC.
For many families, the move from Rugby Cubs to the Under-7s is the beginning of a wonderful rugby adventure. We look forward to welcoming new players and watching them grow in confidence, develop new skills and become part of the Brixham RFC family.

UNDER-8s
Year 3
The Brixham RFC Under-8s are entering their second year of tag rugby, building on the skills, confidence and friendships developed during their first season.
At this exciting stage, players continue to improve their running, passing, evasion and teamwork through fun, structured coaching sessions that place enjoyment and participation at the heart of everything we do.
Every child is encouraged to develop at their own pace in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
Led by our enthusiastic RFU-qualified coaches and supported by a fantastic group of parents and volunteers, the Under-8s enjoy regular festivals and friendly fixtures against clubs from across Devon.
These events provide a wonderful opportunity for players to put their new skills into practice, meet new friends and experience the excitement of representing Brixham RFC.
While the focus remains firmly on fun and learning, the squad continues to grow in confidence each week, proudly wearing the famous black and white jersey and demonstrating the values of respect, teamwork and sportsmanship.
New players are always welcome, whether they have played rugby before or are completely new to the game.

UNDER-9s
Year 4
The Brixham RFC Under-9s are a fun, energetic and enthusiastic group of young players who are developing their rugby skills while embracing the core values of the game — teamwork, respect, enjoyment and sportsmanship.
With the guidance of our dedicated RFU-qualified coaches and fantastic team of parent volunteers, every training session is designed to build confidence, improve fundamental skills and, above all, ensure that every child has fun.
At Under-9 level, the emphasis is on participation, learning and creating a lifelong love of rugby in a safe and supportive environment.
The season promises to be another exciting one, with a full programme of fixtures and festivals against clubs from across Devon and the South West. These events provide fantastic opportunities for players to develop their game, make new friends and proudly represent Brixham RFC in the famous black and white.
The squad is also looking forward to planning a tour, giving players, coaches and families the chance to enjoy rugby together while creating memories and friendships that will last for years.
New players are always welcome, whether they have played rugby before or are looking to give it a try for the very first time.

Year 5
The Brixham RFC Under-10s are a lively and enthusiastic group of young players who love the game of rugby and everything that being part of Brixham Rugby Club represents.
Our aim is simple — to provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment where every child can develop their skills, build confidence and enjoy being part of a team.
Through enjoyable training sessions and friendly competition, players learn the core values of rugby: teamwork, respect, discipline and sportsmanship.
Led by our dedicated team of RFU-qualified coaches and supported by fantastic parent volunteers, every player is encouraged to develop at their own pace.
Whether they're scoring their first try, making their first tackle or simply enjoying time with friends, every achievement is celebrated.
Throughout the season, the Under-10s take part in festivals and fixtures across Devon, helping players gain valuable experience while creating lasting friendships and unforgettable memories.

Year 6
The Brixham RFC Under-11s are a vibrant and enthusiastic squad where young players continue to develop their rugby skills in a fun, friendly and supportive environment.
At this stage, the emphasis is on learning through enjoyment. Our experienced RFU-qualified coaches encourage every player to build confidence, improve their core skills and develop a greater understanding of the game, while always promoting the values of teamwork, respect, discipline and sportsmanship.
Training sessions are designed to be enjoyable, challenging and inclusive, ensuring that every child, regardless of ability or experience, has the opportunity to learn, make friends and reach their full potential.
Throughout the season, the squad enjoys a varied programme of fixtures and festivals against clubs from across Devon, giving players valuable match experience and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
The Under-11s are proud to represent Brixham Rugby Club and wear the famous black and white jersey with pride. They are supported every step of the way by a dedicated team of coaches, volunteers and parents whose commitment helps make the club such a special place for young people to enjoy rugby.

The Brixham RFC Under-12s are an enthusiastic and energetic group of young players who continue to develop their rugby skills while enjoying everything that being part of Brixham Rugby Club has to offer.
At this important stage of their rugby journey, players build on the fundamentals of the game through enjoyable, structured coaching that encourages teamwork, confidence, respect and sportsmanship.
Our RFU-qualified coaches and dedicated volunteers provide a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where every child is encouraged to learn, improve and, most importantly, have fun.
Throughout the season, the squad takes part in fixtures, festivals and development events across Devon, allowing players to test themselves against other clubs, make new friends and experience the true spirit of rugby.
Whether it's scoring tries, making tackles or simply enjoying training with teammates, every player is valued and encouraged to give their best.
The Under-12s are a fantastic example of the club's commitment to developing young players both on and off the field.

Year 8
The Under-13s represent an exciting stage in the rugby journey, where players continue to develop their skills, confidence and understanding of the game while embracing the values that make Brixham Rugby Club so special.

Led by a dedicated team of RFU-qualified coaches and volunteers, training sessions focus on developing core skills, teamwork, decision-making and fitness, ensuring every player progresses while enjoying the game.
Throughout the season, the Under-13s compete in fixtures and festivals across Devon and the South West, gaining valuable match experience and creating lasting friendships along the way.
The emphasis is always on playing attractive rugby, showing respect for opponents and match officials, and wearing the famous black and white jersey with pride.
Whether players are taking their first steps into youth rugby or continuing their development, everyone is welcomed, encouraged and supported to enjoy the game in a safe and inclusive environment.

Year 9
Brixham Rugby Football Club's Youth Section is one of Devon's active and progressive children's sports programmes, providing young players with the opportunity to enjoy rugby in a positive, safe and supportive environment.
At present, due to a lack of player numbers, Brixham RFC is unable to field an Under-14s team.

UNDER-15s
Year 10
The Brixham RFC Under-15s continue to build on the proud traditions of the club, combining competitive rugby with a strong emphasis on teamwork, enjoyment and personal development.
Our squad is made up of a committed group of players who train hard, support one another and represent the famous black and white jersey with pride.
Under the guidance of a dedicated team of RFU-qualified coaches and volunteers, players continue to develop their technical skills, game awareness and confidence in a positive and supportive environment.
The Under-15s enjoy a varied season of cup fixtures, festivals and friendly matches against clubs from across Devon and the South West, providing opportunities for every player to learn and improve.
As they prepare for the next season's Fishermen's Cup competition, the focus remains on developing well-rounded players who understand the values of respect, discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Whether striving for success on the pitch or simply enjoying the camaraderie that rugby brings, the Under-15s are excellent ambassadors for Brixham RFC and a credit to their families, coaches and the club.

UNDER-16s
Year 11
Brixham Rugby Football Club's Under-16s are part of one of Devon's active and progressive youth rugby communities, providing a welcoming environment where young players can continue to develop their skills, confidence and passion for the game.
As the oldest age group in our Youth Section, the Under-16s play an important role in preparing players for the transition into Colts rugby.
Training focuses on developing technical ability, game understanding, fitness and teamwork, while promoting the core values of rugby — respect, discipline, enjoyment and sportsmanship.
The squad competes in the prestigious Fishermen's Cup, a competition involving clubs from across Devon, with the final traditionally played at Astley Park each April — one of the highlights of the county's youth rugby calendar.
Fixtures are played throughout the season against clubs from across Devon and the South West.
New players are always welcome, whatever their previous rugby experience.
