To all Brixham Rugby Club Members & Supporters, all who were at Astley Park yesterday and also those of you from across the country and wider around the world.

I would like to take a little time to reflect and to say thank you to everyone for all of your fantastic support.

Yesterday was an incredible day for all at Brixham RFC. A very competitive game played and a wonderful demonstration of local Rugby and what the Devon Cup really does mean to clubs that care about this great competition in Devon; this is one of the oldest cup competitions in the country.

I am sure that we would all want to say huge congratulations to JJ, Chairman at Exmouth RFC, the club, their supporters, and especially the team that won the Devon Cup yesterday. You were the better side on the day, and deserved the win.

To our Captain, Jordan Watson, and all the INCREDIBLE Brixham team, ‘Thank You’. We know that you ‘Left Nothing on the Park’ and that you did the club proud. To Adam, Richard, John, Barry, Pete, Dan and all the support team, thank you for all your hard work in preparing the team; once again we are so thankful to each of you.

We would like to thank and acknowledge VX-3, our match sponsors and all other sponsors who supported us so well before and on the day.

On behalf of all those who enjoyed the day, (although maybe not the result), we want to say, how incredible ALL the volunteers are that worked so hard. What you all contributed was absolutely fantastic. I would love to name all of you, but I know I would unintentionally leave some out, so please forgive me, that I don’t. Just to say that at Brixham RFC we are so proud and pleased to have so many volunteers that are prepared to give their own time and support the ‘Fishermen’ at Brixham RFC.

Finally, I want to pay a special tribute to Pete Cox, Bar & Functions Manager, and ALL the bar, cleaning and catering teams that worked so hard and delivered so well to all of us.

Brixham RFC updates 12.03.26

A big game this weekend at Astley Park when the 1st XV take on Exmouth in the prestigious Devon Cup Final.

The team is on form, but they need your support, so please come along and raise the roof.

We have only ever won the Devon Cup four times in our history, this Saturday we aim to make it five!

Introducing the Brixham RFC 1875 Club Lotto

Brixham RFC Updates 27.02.26

Crusaders are playing the Old Technicians at home tomorrow, kicking off at 2.30 pm. It would be great to see you there.

The Colts XV are away to Totnes Colts XV in the Devon Bowl semi-final, kicking off at 1.30 pm and on Sunday, Sirens have a home game kicking off at 2.30 pm against Teignmouth.

Champion Volunteering Team

Volunteers at Brixham RFC have won the Volunteering Team of the Year in the second Torbay Community Champion Awards organised by Torbay Communities and the Torbay Weekly.

Announcing the awards at a ceremony in Bay Church, Paignton, compere, Jim Parker, editor of the Torbay Weekly, said: “The volunteer groups within Brixham RFC play a key role in ensuring that the rugby club can function and grow as a community-based entity and as a significant, ongoing, profitable commercial business.

Brixham Rugby Football Club is more than just a sporting club—it is the beating heart of a proud and resilient town. The volunteering efforts across the club provide a safe, friendly and positive environment for people of all ages and backgrounds to thrive individually and as part of a team.

The club is a lively hub of sporting activity, featuring rugby, darts, euchre and social events, and offers a comprehensive structure that caters to players of all ages and abilities. The club’s future remains a top

priority, as evidenced by its four senior rugby teams, a Colts team, thirteen youth sides for both boys and girls, and a dedicated Rugby Cubs programme (for ages 3 to 6). Over 300 players represent the town

each week. Additionally, the inclusion of a walking rugby team shows the club’s commitment to accessibility and inclusivity. The club is very much a part of the fabric of the local community, and its facilities/resources are used by a number of local community groups and charities, such as the RNLI, LooseHeadz and Slimming World Meetings.

To run Brixham RFC, more than 175 volunteers come together at various times of the week to ensure the club runs smoothly.”

Brixham RFC updates 09.01.26

Happy New Year!

The First XV are away this weekend at Devonport Services with a 2.30 pm kick-off. (A reminder that if you are planning on travelling, there is no parking at the ground.)

The Crusaders are at home against Kingsbridge, also with a 2.30 pm kick off, and the Colts are also at home with a 2 pm kick off against Devonport Services on the top pitch.

Albion take on Torrington VX away.

Brixham RFC Updates 19.12.25

The 1st XV take on Lydney at home tomorrow with a 2.30 pm kick off, whilst the Crusaders are away against Tamar Saracens, also kicking off at 2.30 pm.

Unfortunately, South Molton have pulled out of the game against Albion and the Colts have no game.

Worth noting that the first leg of the Reg Brewer Cup is kicking off at Torquay on Saturday, December 27th at 2 pm.
