Clive Higgens RIP

At Brixham RFC, it is with sadness that we announce and acknowledge the passing of a dear friend, supporter and sponsor of Brixham Rugby Club. Following a long battle with cancer, Clive Higgens passed away peacefully on Monday, the 17th of November.

Originally from Worcester, Clive grew up with a real love of sport and excelled in many; however, his real love was always rugby. In his younger days, he played for the first team at Worcester Rugby Club; he also had a spell with top-flight club Mosley, and he played alongside many who went on to become international players. The family moved to Brixham in the 1970s, and it was then that he joined Brixham Rugby Club, making many friends.

With his wife Jenny, they ran a number of businesses around the harbour, including angling boats and ferries, and of course Claws Seafood.

Clive has always been a good supporter at the club, and despite his illness, he would be watching the 1st XV as well as many other teams. He witnessed the great win over Marlborough just a couple of weeks ago. He was also a very valued sponsor of the club, for which we are very grateful.

Clive leaves two daughters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a great legacy of family, many of whom are involved in the club.

From all at Brixham RFC we offer our deepest condolences to all the family and friends, our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Rest in peace Clive, as another old stalwart goes over the posts for the last time.

Chris Forster

Club Chairman
