  1. Amazing, it’s great the club are looking at the future, and making the facilities some of the best around, most certainly in Devon.

  2. I am in favour of improvements to the club. Please consider the following:

What is the commercial viability – please provide market analysis, evidence of need for such a large function room.
How will be paid for, for example, commercial mortgage, membership contribution, etc. What is the expected ‘break even’ point.
Does the project include the refurbishment of the existing dilapidated changing rooms.
Does the project consider the dilapidation of the existing grandstand.
No enlargement of the DI Lounge is shown on the plans.
If constructed, what are the estimated costs with respect to maintenance, energy and cleaning.
Security between changing rooms and bar remains an issue.

As a club, I am concerned that we are constructing an ever larger liability without having satisfied ourselves that a market for it exists. We should also consider the year on year costs of maintaining and improving our existing building, playing fields and car park which will certainly have much needed funds directed away from them to fund any new project.
I believe that BRFC should be a club that serves our community, not the corporate elite. Prices are already high which exclude some of our existing community and I am concerned this project will escalate this.

  3. Looks like our favourite spot.. Rowdy’s roof…would no longer exist..! Would provision be made elsewhere?

    1. Hi Nick & all Rowdy’s Roof. Many thanks for your feedback, we will ensure that you do not loose your spot. We really value your support and continued support.

  4. Great idea to develop and anything that can enhance additional income will be required going forward. With the aim of the Club to play at a higher level we will also need to attract new players as well as have more income streams. The changing rooms do not attract players (although are needed). Could one changing room be a small gym? Maybe move the entrance door to the Youth store to the front and extend the size of the new changing room on ground floor and make this a small gym??? Maybe non members pay a fee to use creating a small income stream. May not be ideal but appreciate early days. Need to incorporate a gym and additional training facilities in future plans.

  5. Are there provisions for the popular and growing Rowdy Roof? Bar and membership prices are continuing to increase, are these costs likely to continue to rise to fund the expansion and then maintenance of the new facilities?

  6. Very much in favour of the continued investment into club facilities for players & visitors (members or otherwise. Surprised not to see any dedicated indoor gym/fitness space for players though.

  7. How often is the BTA function room too small to accommodate our guests? Do we know how often we have had to turn down functions because of its size and what about the repositioning of the kitchen? Will that also have new fittings?
Has the idea of extending the Danny Irvine room been kicked into touch?
I know this has been mentioned by Adam, but construction of a weights and training room would be beneficial for our members. It could also be open to the general public, al la the Gym at the Range.
Having worked on gear in the Stand, it is clear that considerable money will need to be spent refurbishing this area in the near future.
The two upstairs changing rooms need to be upgraded.
How often do we need 6 changing rooms at the same time?
How will any of the plans bring in more revenue, other than the extension to the BTA room and possible larger gatherings?
This appears to be a very negative review I know, but we need to spend money where it can do the most use
