Lest we forget

FALLEN COMRADES

On Saturday, 9th November, before the Crusaders game, we will be unveiling a plaque dedicated to the memory of those members of our club who made the supreme sacrifice and laid down their lives during World War 1

· William Ash was killed on the trawler Courtier in January 1916. He is buried in Brixham.

· Joseph Jeffrey was in the Gloucestershire Regiment and was killed in July 1918. He is buried in Montecchio Precalcino Communal Cemetery Extension, Italy

· Ernest Vass was in the Devonshire Regiment and was killed in July 1916. He is buried in the Serre Road Cemetery No.2, Beaumont-Hamel and Hebuterne, France

· Jack Sharp was in the Royal Artillery and was killed in August 1916. He is buried in Nasiriyah, Iraq.

· W Boyce, who is not listed on the Brixham War Memorial and no details of his death are known.

There will then be a short remembrance ceremony on the pitch before the kick-off.
